October 18
Izzy officially started to walk today. She just decided to try it out. She walked everywhere downstairs until she got so tired that she just layed down on the floor and pooped out. We are so excited but nervous too. We have been saying she was going to start walking at a young age of 7 months but she knows how to play Mom and Dad. I guess she figured out that we weren't going to carry her everywhere anymore. So it is time to batten down the hatches as they say because we are in for a wild ride!! Next it is going to be chasing her from room to room, at least it will be good exercise.

Izabella

Izabella turned One on September 12, 2008. I can't believe it has been a year since I had her. She is the best thing in the world. She loves books, dogs, fish and just being alive. She is my little miracle. If you didn't know she was born with Pulmonary Stenosis, this is a heart defect that requires surgery. She was born on Septmeber 12, 2007 with flared nostrils and very pale skin and the doctor thought something was wrong. They listened to her heart and noticed a very strong murmur. They brought in the Pediatrician and had him listen and they were very worried. I was in no shape to know what was going on because I had a 105 temp and just had an emergency C-section. They put me in a room and then Clint came in to see how I was doing and told me what was going on. They put her in an incubator and then the Pediatrician came in to inform us that she needed to be rushed to a hospital that could do surgery on her. They took her to Primary Childrens and about 5-6 hours later they did heart surgery. This was the hardest thing Clint and I had ever gone through besides me losing my dad to cancer four years earlier. She was supposed to be in the hospital for 3-4 months atleast and since we have such a great deal of faith she was released 7 days after having heart surgery. She is a strong and wonderful little human, nothing in this world could ever replace her.....

One year later she is still as strong willed and stubborn as ever. There is nothing that could make me prouder to be a parent as I am right now!

Grandpa Gustafson's funeral

Back at the end of June my mom, Izzy and I went back to Illinois for my Grandpas funeral. I haven't been back there since my Aunt Yvonne's funeral in 1988. It was a bitter sweet time, I got to meet cousins that I didn't really remember and there kids that I didn't know they had. It was good to go back and see everybody. It is just too bad that families get together at weddings or funerals.
